Inaugural information on AIB DIRT.COM

Our group wishes to announce that the abovementioned site is now operational on the Internet. In Ireland today, the word DIRT has two meanings: the standard dictionary definition and the abbreviation for Deposit Interest Retention Tax, introduced in 1986. For the past two years, the Dail Public Accounts Committee and the Revenue Commissioners have investigated criminal abuses of the DIRT law. By November 2000, a total figure of £173m had been paid in full and final settlement of DIRT evasion by financial institutions operating in Ireland of which, the main culprit, Allied Irish Banks paid a staggering £90m. The recent appointment of Mr. Thomas Mulcahy's protegee, Mr. Michael Buckley as Chief Executive and Mr. Lochlann Quinn's unstable and appalling public statements to the effect that the bank had been duped by dishonest customers in respect of the DIRT evasion scam, clearly demonstrates that there is no hope of change within the AIB Board.

Our Aim is Clear

We seek an urgent merger or take-over on good terms for everybody associated with AIB. The hope of a good deal diminishes daily because our reputation, goodwill and trade name are irreparably damaged. In addition, there is a mathematical certainty that a financial asteroid is on collision course with AIB, probably from Poland, USA or Capital Markets. We do not propose to let our bank go down without a fight. Our strategy is to remove all serving directors and auditors particularly, Mr. Michael Buckley, who would be replaced by an outsider, ideally a tough gifted American with a mandate to root out incompetence, corruption and fraud.

The Purpose of AIBDIRT.COM

Our group makes submissions to regulatory authorities, gives sworn evidence and speaks to general meetings of AIB. In these matters, we have never knowingly or willfully made false or dishonorable statements about the bank or anyone associated with it. However, we make no apology for echoing, reiterating or quoting from the deleterious descriptions of AIB made in the public domain by parliamentarians, public servants and the media which, as will be evidenced on our site included the following: gangsters, liars, riddled with deceit, rottenness, criminals and perjurers. On occasion, acting on corroborated sources within AIB we make unsupported allegations. A good example would be our 1996 allegations of fraud by an executive director, a London-based bank manager and a premises officer, brazenly denied at general meetings by two successive Chairmen. The purpose of AIB DIRT.COM is to publish letters, submissions, transcripts, judgements, tribunal reports, media extracts and other written evidence, so that any interested patty may judge the credibility of our allegations past, present and future.
